Fire in the hills....

Ellie and I set out on a walk today and as we left we looked up and the hills at the end of our street were on fire...Ellie continued to play with her mouse toy that vibrates as I watched the brown smoke rise above the hills with helicopters from the news and others loaded with flame retardants hovered above the burning hill. Sirens were constant but didn't seem to bother Ellie. Since we are a mainly a vehicle town it was quite a site to see people out from their dwellings on the sidewalk watching the action. Be the time we finished our walk the flames were under control and the brown smoke turned white. Not long afterwards it started to snow ashes and the air had a scent of burning vegetation.
Enough excitement for the day. Ellie is napping and Jo An's mom is on her way over for dinner...
