Ellie helps her Dad...

I spent the weekend in bed with the flu. Jo An and Ellie were so sweet and understanding. Ellie didn't ask me to carry her much and Jo An offered chicken soup. Both of them gave me plenty of love.
Jo An had to prepare an earthquake emergency kit for daycare and placed it in a plastic container for me to deliver with Ellie on Monday morning.
I woke up feeling well enough to go to work so I got Ellie dressed and started out the door. I remembered to pick up the container and only then did I realize how heavy it was. With Ellie in one arm and cradling the container in the other I approached our back gate door. Picture this if you can, the gate is a full size metal door that takes considerable strength to open even for an adult.
I say to Ellie..."baby girl, I'm going to need your help here, pull the door open for Dad." She grabbed the door handle the first time and it slipped out of her hand. On the second try she pulled this big door open by herself.
I congratulated her and she gave me a big proud smile...
